I was introduced to these at an Italian restaurant in a white wine sauce served over chicken breast. I found this source and followed with an intensely flavored clear white wine sauce for tiger prawns over pasta that would knock your socks off by itself, but add the Amarena Cherries and given the opportunity, you just might eat yourself to death. Most describe these as exceedingly sweet, and they are sweet, but it is the intense flavor that is so fantastic that it knocks your senses a bit askew.
